How using a timer can benefit your meditation practice.

I wanted to share why it might be important to use a timer for your meditation practice.

When we sit down to meditate, it’s easy to get caught up in the idea of time.

We might find ourselves checking the clock, wondering how long we’ve been sitting, or feeling anxious about how much time is left.


This can distract us from the present moment and take us out of our practice.


Using a timer can help alleviate this anxiety. By setting a specific amount of time for our meditation, we can let go of the need to check the clock and simply focus on our breath or our chosen meditation object.

It also allows us to build up consistency in our practice. By setting a timer for the same amount of time each day, we can create a habit that becomes easier to maintain over time.
